A ceramic coating’s slickness and a PPF’s clarity both last far longer with simple, regular care. Neglect them and the hydrophobic effect fades, the gloss dulls, and contaminants get a foothold. Good habits also keep manufacturer warranties valid.

Do this, skip that.
Do
- Wash every 1–2 weeks with a pH-neutral car shampoo
- Use the two-bucket method and a soft wash mitt
- Dry with a clean microfibre drying towel
- Remove bird droppings, sap and bug splatter as soon as you can
- Use a ceramic “boost” spray every few months to top up the slickness
- Book an annual inspection so we can check the coating and film
Don’t
- Use automatic brush car washes — they scratch and dull
- Use harsh, high-pH or abrasive cleaners
- Wash in direct sun or on a hot panel
- Let contaminants bake on — they can etch through the protection
- Pressure-wash directly at the edges of fresh PPF
- Wax over a ceramic coating — it’s unnecessary and can mask it
