The EP-04 isn't a paint polisher. It's a purpose-built cordless tool engineered for one specific job that full-size machines can't handle properly: removing oil film, water spotting, and rain etching from automotive glass.
Glass contamination is a different chemistry problem to paint defects. Oil film comes from road grime, exhaust residue, and silicone fallout — it sits on top of the glass as a hydrophobic layer that wiper blades can't shift. Water spots and rain etching are mineral deposits that have bonded into the surface itself. Both require controlled mechanical action with the right compound (typically cerium oxide) to remove without scratching, and a 125mm or 150mm paint polisher is simply too large to control on a curved windscreen.
The EP-04's 75mm (3-inch) backing plate fits between A-pillars, follows the curvature of side mirrors, and reaches corners that bigger machines miss. The single-handed pistol grip allows precise pressure control. Crucially, the housing is weighted so the tool's own mass provides the correct contact force — pushing down on the tool heats the glass and is explicitly warned against on the body.
Battery handle — sold separately. The EP-04 ships as a tool only. If you already own a CARTON EP-02 Foam Sprayer or EP-03 Electric Sprayer, the same battery handle slots straight in. Otherwise add the CARTON Replacement Battery Pack alongside this polisher.
Cerium oxide compound. The EP-04 needs an oil film removal compound to do its job — the same CeO₂ chemistry used in optical lens manufacturing.
The EP-04 will not correct paint. The 75mm head, low-throw orbital action, and 12V power are deliberately sized for glass work only. If you need paint correction, look at a 125mm or 150mm dual-action machine instead.
