The Advantages of Microfibre Pads in Detail
Microfibre was developed back in the 1960’s. Their main advantage was the size of the individual filaments (smaller than one denier, ie: silk fibres) that make make them more effective than other fabrics for cleaning purposes. The structure traps dirt and absorbs liquids. However in applications of polishing or cutting, the fine fibres generate a higher impingement rate of contact with the paint surface to give greater abrasion. Therefore, microfibre pads can cut better than foam pads with foam pads providing a better finish and generally safer to use.
We recommend applying minimal pressure and dialing the polisher speed to 3 as a start before you progress with higher speeds for effective cutting. What we love about the microfibre pads is its versatility. This enables it to be used for both cutting and polishing. One of its other advantage over cutting foam pads is the ability to remove fine swirls more effectively where the foam pad struggles to reach the embedded swirls unless done with multiple passes.

Our Microfibre pads comprise a layer of our German foam which acts to contour to the surface of your vehicle as your pass the polisher over the panel with the microfibre component sitting on top that layer. Our pads come in 5.5′ and 6.5′ diameters to suit the 5′ and 6′ backing pads respectively.
