The new coarse wool polishing pads, designed for dual action tools, are specifically crafted for effectively removing severe paint defects. The coarse wool pad’s blue foam is both more rigid and dense, enhancing the transfer of tool movement to the work surface and thereby increasing cutting power.

Not sure if it was the heat from friction when buffing but as I kept using it the foam pad shrunk.
As you can see in picture..
Otherwise it has amazing cutting power and I love all my Rupes products..
